The all-new Mamba 70 G2 represents a bold step forward in lightweight performance, modern construction, and pilot-focused features. Inspired by our FeatherLite design philosophy, the Mamba 70 G2 boasts an impressive 2,070 square inches of wing area and a flying weight of less than 19 pounds. The result is exceptionally low wing loading that delivers ultra-stable slow 3D flight, smooth and predictable sport aerobatics, and aggressive 3D capability on demand.
What Makes a Mamba?
The Mamba 70 G1 was the first Mamba and established the design philosophy that would define every Mamba that followed. Its lightweight feel, locked-in control authority, and predictable response across the entire flight envelope became the benchmark for what pilots expect from an aerobatic biplane—whether flying precision aerobatics, smooth sport sequences, or aggressive 3D maneuvers.
Born from the full-scale Model 12 foundation, the original Mamba 70 was transformed into the ultimate R/C airframe through the collaboration of World Champion Quique Somenzini and Kevin Kimball of Jim Kimball Enterprises. From that first aircraft came the Mamba 10, Mamba 60E, and Mamba 120, each carrying forward the same core DNA first introduced with the Mamba 70 G1.
Generation 2
With Flex’s continual pursuit of the ultimate flying experience, the Mamba 70 G2 has been updated for modern convenience and refinement. Key improvements include proprietary Flex Speed-Locks on the wings and canopy for faster setup and transport, a fully installed cockpit, included fiberglass engine baffle, and Flex DS49010BLHV servos (on ARFSV and INSTAFLY packages) for precise, reliable control. Additional updates to engine cooling, a lightweight “soda bottle” style fuel tank, and a striking new Clint Sweet Design trim scheme modernize the platform—without altering the Mamba’s proven airframe and flight characteristics pilots already know and love.
